Servant Leadership Experiences
Every one of these experiences has help shape me to be the person I am today and will continue to build my character and skills in leadership of the educational field.
Legacy Kids opportunities:
Sunday School:
I have been teaching Sunday school for 3-5 year old children for over 10 years. It allows me to bring two of my favorite things together: children and the word of God. Through the years I have learned to incorporate my own teaching methods with the provided curriculum.
Vacation Bible School:
I have taught VBS every summer since the 6th grade. This is five days of a Christian based thematic camp geared for preschool through 5th graders. It is an opportunity for all children to learn about Jesus, whether it is for the first time or for the hundredth time. I have lead preschool stations, openings and closings and elementary Bible Adventures.

Zion Lutheran Church/ Martin Luther School opportunities:
Kings Kids:
I have been given the opportunity to volunteer at another church of a different denomination. Kings Kids is a program started for the Children's Ministry Program on Wednesday nights. My roles have been organizing and leading activitities for children ages 3-10.
Mayfest:
Mayfest is a fundraiser put on by Martin Luther School to raise money for funds and expenses. I have helped with set up, speak and donate babysitting time for a "parents night out" basket. It is a chance to give back a little for all that the school has done for me, my faith, and my education.

Emerging Leaders Academy Opportunities:
Day of Caring:
The Day of Caring was the first project I took on leading as a part of ELA. I organized two different locations for our group to volunteer at. I wanted to let people of all career paths get an opportunity to volunteer in something related to their field of work. We started the morning volunteering at Missouri Valley Montessori Preschool. We then went to the Abused Adult Resource Center to paint the halls and the main offices. It taught me a lot about communication and leadership.

Other Servant Leadership Opportunities:
AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk:
This is an organization that has very close to my heart. My cousin Tyler committed suicide August of 2013. Out of the Darkness Walk is put on by the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The walk gives an opportunity for people to raise awareness for suicide. It gives people the chance to connect with others while they grieve the loss of loved ones and in support for those who have ever dealt with depression or contemplated suicide. I have become an advocate for suicide prevention and I hope to continue with the involvement of this organization.
